Right on the stroke of half time, Jon Gallagher doubled the lead deep in first-half stoppage time and effectively settled the contest. Brad Stuver and the back line did the rest, seeing off some late Xolos pressure and getting a helping hand when an early second-half red card to Oleksandr Svatok was overturned on review. It is a real lift for a side that had won just once in its previous seven, and against a Tijuana team that arrived unbeaten in eight it counts for even more.
